ETHICS

Assalamu'alaikum wbt...

Semakin belajar ethics, semakin membuak-buak kegeraman di dalam hati. Kenapa? Masakan tidak, persoalan asyik berkisar tentang, 'how are we going to deal with this problem?', bukannye 'how are we going to solve this problem?'

Ok ok...maybe ramai yang tak tahu apa itu ethics. So, I'll try my best to explain what ethics is in a layman language. Senang cite, kene bagi kes dulu ok...satu senario:

Abortion...A 16 year-old-girl come to see you in your GP. She is 5 months pregnant and asked you for termination procedure. What should you do at the moment? How would you weigh your arguments before making any decisions?

Ethical questions may arise:

Pro life

Pro-life will put arguments against abortion...such as human has the right to life etc etc...

Pro-choice

Pro-choice will put arguments for abortion...such as the mother has the right to decide whether she wants the baby or not because if the baby is born, the baby may not have good quality of life because the mother will be kicked off from school, thus lack of education...poor job..etc etc..

Obviously we as a muslim has a clear guideline regarding abortion issue because Islam is the way of life..If we stick to Quran and Sunnah, ijtima' and kias, inshaALlah we will not loose our track in any decision that we have to take..(which I am not going to say anything about it now)...

These are roughly the things that are debated in ethical class...

Well, I kind of able to tolerate with this case and euthanasia cases...but the next case that I'm going to share with you is ridiculous (sorry for using that word)

Scenario 2:

A 12-year-old girl come to see you and ask for contraceptive because she wants to have a safe sex with her boyfriend and she asks you not to tell her parents about this...What should you do?

I was like....????

Not all medical ethics are ridiculous..I must say some are useful...such as securing the right to elderly healthcare (which is my SSC topic that I'm working on right now)...It involves rationing and allocation of resources and really, somehow I find it useful if I am going to be the policy maker in the future..

I think, ethics has an element of fiqh al-muwazzanat (fiqh pertimbangan) in it ---> mind you that I am not a 'ustazah' or someone who knows well about this matter...it is MERELY my assumption...but certainly it has gone far to an extreme end to be regarded as fiqh al-muwazzanat...because it is not based on religion (specifically Islam)...but it is based on human logical thinking and moral values which are not being molded in the essence of Islam.

You see, GPs won't have to deal with such situations if the law of Islam is being applied in every single second in every single human life in this entire world...

Hey, hey..you may start thinking that: 'this girl is soooo idealistic.'

But please please please please, think about it. If we don't solve a problem from the root, then these are the things that GPs are going to suffer...to make decisions for problems that we won't see if Islam is regarded as a way of life, if Islamic law is going to take place.

In Islam, no sex before marriage, no alcohol etc...You don't believe that our Creator knows what's the best for us? Let's see this (from medical point of view only..I'm sure there are many social implications regarding these issues..you can think about it yourself):

1) Alternating sexual partners will lead to STDs...cervical cancer...chlamydia infection...tubule obstruction...genital warts...and many more...these are nasty diseases...

2) Alcholism will lead to...cirrhosis....portal hypertension...barrot's eosophagus...vestibulocochlear problem...and many more...these are horrendous problems...

why why why...I don't see why can people deny or never try to understand Islam fully, even we, the muslims ourselves.

Thus, start thinking...May we get closer to our One and Only Creator, ALlah s.w.t...

ABOUT ME

Peringatan buat diri sendiri:

61:2 O ye who believe! Why say ye that which ye do not?

61:3 Grievously odious is it in the sight of Allah that ye say that which ye do not

DOA

BICARA HATI SEORANG YANG BERGELAR WANITA

Segala puji bagi-Mu Tuhan.
Lantaran telah menjadikan aku seorang wanita...
Kiranya aku menjadi seorang isteri
Kurniakanlah padaku kekuatan
Menjadi tulang belakang seorang suami... seorang mujahid
Pengembang perjuangan di sayap kiri
Diadun dengan kelembutan
Menjadi teman sejati...
Sahabat setia penyejuk mata
Pembina semangat dan penguat jiwa
Seanggun peribadi Siti Khadijah
Ketenangan Baginda Rasulullah utusan Allah

Bebas jiwa dari belanggu keperempuanan
Yang memiliki sembilan nafsu
Merdeka dari kepentingan peribadi
Setulus Siti Fatimah yang sering ditinggalkan suaminya, Saidina Ali
Dihantar pemergiannya tanpa ditanya
Bilakah pulang?
Disambut kepulangannya dengan khidmat dan kemanisan
Bersulamkan kemesraan
Rumahtangga adalah syurga
Wadah suburnya cinta ketuhanan Ubudiyyah
Akal yang tunggal tidak dibiarkan
Hanya berlegar dicelahan periuk belanga
Disebalik lipatan lampin anak
Menjangkau kebangkitan Islam dialam sejagat
Menjadi pentadbir disebalik tabir !!!

Namun Ya Tuhan
Siapalah daku untuk memiliki
Watak wanita solehah pendamping Nabi
Dek berkaratnya mazmumah yang bersarang dihati
Maka kurniakanlah daku sekeping hati yang sentiasa Insaf
Hak seorang suami
Tidakkan mungkin kupenuhi
Biar telahku jilat nanahnya yang berlelehan
Biar telahku tadahkan wajahku
Buat mengesat debu ditelapak kakinya
Dan sememangnya aku mengimpikan
Watak seorang ibu
Yang bakal melahirkan
Putera-putera secekal Mus'ab bin Umar
Menggadai dunia demi kasih Tuhannya
Segigih Zubair Ibnu Awwaam
Yang diangkat Rasul sebagai hawarijnya
Hasil didikan seorang wanita bergelar ibu..
Jua memiliki puteri setabah Masyitah
Rela direbus demi mempertahankan iman
Atau sesuci Maryam seluruh hidupnya
Mengabdikan diri kepada Tuhan

Meskipun daku bukan ibunya
Yang memiliki peribadi semurni Siti Fatimah
Ibu Syeikh Abdul Kadir Jailani
Yang tiap titis darah mampu berzikir kehadrat Ilahi
Namun..
Mudah-mudahan zuriatku
Bakal menampilkan
Mujahid-mujahid yang rindu memburu syahid
Serikandi-serikandi yang mampu memakmurkan
Mukabumi Allah...
Dengan ketaqwaan.. kesolehan

Yang saling berkorban dan dikorbankan
Buat menyemarakkan
Islam diakhir zaman
Sebagaimana kisah seorang ibu
Yang telah kematian
Putera-puteranya dimedan jihad

"Mereka telah berbahagia sebagaimana aku bahagia
aduhai... kiranya aku punya seorang anak lagi
kurelakan dia turut gugur dijalan Ilahi"

Dan seandainya daku ditakdirkan kehilangan mereka
Setenang Ummu Faisal...
Yang tidak menjadikan kematian
Suami dan anak-anaknya
Halangan kecintaan pada-Mu Ya Ilahi...

Redhalah daku yang dhaif ini sebagai hamba-Mu
Inilah pengaduan harap dan munajat
Kiranya kekasih-Mu sendiri pernah menyatakan
"kulihat kebanyakan dari isi neraka itu adalah wanita..."
